THE SIGNIFICANCE OF FIRE SAFETY PROGRAM OF BESTLINK COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES NOVALICHES CAMPUS

This study aims to evaluate the significance of the fire safety program at Bestlink College of the Philippines, Novaliches campus. Specifically, it seeks to answer the following questions: What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age, gender, civil status, and year level? How do the respondents assess the significance of the fire safety program at Bestlink College of the Philippines, Novaliches campus in the following aspects: Personnel (training, knowledge, and preparedness) Equipment and materials (availability, functionality, and accessibility) Procedures (emergency protocols, drills, and response measures) Management (implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement) This study aims to provide insights into the effectiveness of the current fire safety measures and identify areas for improvement to ensure a safer campus environment. The respondents of this study consisted of 30 students from different sections, 20 teachers, and 10 members of the management at Bestlink College of the Philippines. A stratified random sampling technique was used to ensure a representative selection of participants. This study employed a descriptive research design. Data collection methods included observations and surveys. Before conducting the survey, the researchers sought permission from the administration of Bestlink College of the Philippines. Upon approval, the survey questionnaires were personally distributed to the selected respondents. All distributed questionnaires were successfully retrieved. Findings and Assessment The respondents strongly agreed on the adequacy of the fire safety program in the following aspects: Personnel – Overall Weighted Mean: 3.41 Equipment and Materials – Overall Weighted Mean: 3.38 Procedures – Overall Weighted Mean: 3.35 Management – Overall Weighted Mean: 3.43 The importance of a comprehensive fire safety program cannot be overstated, as it plays a crucial role in safeguarding lives, protecting property, and preserving livelihoods. An effective fire safety program includes proactive measures such as regular inspections, the installation of fire detection and suppression systems, and comprehensive training on fire prevention and evacuation procedures. Organizations must allocate adequate resources to implement and maintain these programs to reduce the risk of fire-related incidents. Furthermore, fostering a culture of awareness and responsibility within the community enhances the overall effectiveness of fire safety initiatives, ensuring a safer environment for everyone.
