Women and children in the Philippines often fall victim to numerous types of abuse, including child abuse, human trafficking, sexual exploitation, and domestic violence. Furthermore, the challenges faced by these vulnerable populations are exacerbated by factors such as poverty, lack of education, and inadequate legal safeguards. The prevalence of violence against women (VAW) and violence against children (VAC) significantly affects the lives and well-being of millions globally. The research employed a qualitative approach, specifically a descriptive research design, to evaluate the study's variables. A purposive sampling technique was implemented to select participants, which included twenty-five (25) barangay officials, ten (10) social workers from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), ten (10) police officers from Police Station 14 responsible for the Women’s Desk, and ten (10) victims of violence. Data collection was conducted using a survey questionnaire, which was distributed among the barangay officials, social workers, police officers, and victims of violence. The findings of this study indicate that a majority of respondents expressed agreement regarding the role of Barangay Holy Spirit in addressing Violence Against Women and their Children. This assessment was based on factors such as awareness and prevention, with some respondents indicating strong agreement concerning suppression efforts. The findings of this study highlight the significant role of Barangay Holy Spirit in addressing and reducing Violence Against Women and their Children. The researcher proposes several recommendations. Firstly, it is essential to provide training for Barangay Officials and volunteers on effectively managing cases of Violence Against Women and their Children, which should include guidance on offering support and referring cases to the appropriate agencies. Secondly, it is important to establish counseling and psychosocial support services for victims and their families to assist them in coping with the trauma associated with violence. Thirdly, regular educational and awareness campaigns should be conducted within the community to foster gender equality, uphold human rights, and prevent violence against Women and their Children. Fourthly, programs should be implemented to empower Women and their Children by educating them about their rights, enhancing their self-confidence, and equipping them with skills to safeguard themselves against violence. Lastly, it is crucial to strengthen the referral system among Barangay officials, law enforcement, and social services to ensure that victims receive timely and necessary support.
