Abstract

Fresh air is not only a basic need; it is an essential human need for survival. Fresh sustains life to people and other living things who need it to stay alive. This research was conducted to assess the impact of classroom ventilation on the academic performance of Grade 11 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Strand students. This study also aims to answer why good ventilation of a room is a crucial matter to pay close attention to and how it leads to a more efficient discussion and good academic performance, as well as ensures the health of the students. This study utilized the quantitative-descriptive research method of the design. The participants of the study who answered the survey questionnaire were 80 Grade 11 HUMSSstudents. The prominent finding of this study was that classroom ventilation has a considerable impact on the academic performance of the students. A well-ventilated classroom contributes to a more productive and better learning environment where students are motivated to perform better and engage more actively in class discussion, which leads to better results overall. To ensure that the classroom climate is in the best condition and that the room is a suitable place for learning, some recommendations were then proposed, as follows: having spacious classrooms, doing regular maintenance, having necessary upgrades, installing windows and additional fans, and gathering feedback from primary users, such as teachers and students.
