Abstract

Obtaining a National Certificate (NC) provides individuals with better job opportunities, serving as proof that they have registered for, completed, and met all the prerequisites of a chosen course. The NC is particularly crucial for skilled workers aiming for career advancement, as it validates their expertise in a specific field. While not always a mandatory requirement, possessing an NC II can be an advantage when applying to reputable companies and organizations. Many employers actively seek candidates with TESDA certification due to the assurance of their skills and knowledge. This study employed purposive sampling to select participants for this study. This method ensured that each respondent voluntarily participated in the research. The study focused on gathering relevant data from individuals who have obtained TESDA certification. The data collection process aimed to analyze the impact of certification on career opportunities for 4th-year BSHM students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. The study gathered data from 100 respondents. Findings indicate that the majority of respondents were aged 21-25, comprising 76% of the sample. Female respondents accounted for the highest frequency at 130%, while single respondents had the highest percentage at 92%. TESDA local employment received the highest weighted mean of 3.92, indicating strong agreement among respondents. Similarly, TESDA international employment obtained a weighted mean of 3.78, also reflecting strong agreement. This study examines the impact of TESDA certification on 4th-year BSHM students at Bestlink College of the Philippines in relation to career opportunities. TESDA certification provides various advantages, including enhanced employment prospects, increased income potential, and improved industry awareness. Additionally, intangible benefits such as heightened self-confidence, a sense of achievement, and personal growth are associated with certification. Through a comprehensive analysis, this study evaluates how well TESDA certification aligns with the evolving demands of the labor market.
