This study examines the effectiveness of crime prevention strategies implemented by barangay officials in Bahay Toro, Quezon City, focusing on CCTV surveillance, patrolling, and community cooperation. Crime prevention in the Philippines presents various challenges, necessitating integrated approaches that influence both social and economic structures. Despite continuous global efforts, crime rates remain a concern, highlighting the need for localized, well-coordinated initiatives to enhance public safety and security. A descriptive research design was employed, utilizing purposive sampling to select 25 barangay officials and 25 residents. Data collection was conducted through survey questionnaires and analyzed using frequency, percentage, and weighted mean computations. Findings indicate that most respondents acknowledge the effective implementation of crime prevention strategies, particularly CCTV surveillance, patrolling, and community cooperation. However, key challenges were identified, including limited coordination, inadequate communication between barangay officials and residents, insufficient training, and a lack of data-driven interventions. Proposed solutions include strengthening collaboration between barangay officials and law enforcement, providing specialized training on crime prevention, and enhancing surveillance in high-crime areas through increased patrols and additional security cameras. The study highlights the importance of fostering better communication and encouraging active community involvement in crime prevention efforts. Recommendations include establishing neighborhood watch programs and leveraging various communication platforms to disseminate safety information. By addressing these challenges, barangay officials can enhance public safety and strengthen crime prevention efforts in Bahay Toro.
