Abstract

Hazing is a serious social issue that has claimed the lives of promising future leaders and shattered the aspirations of their families. The tragic death of Leonardo "Lenny" Villa in 1991 sparked a strong public outcry to put an end to hazing.   This demand, driven by both public and private educational institutions, created political pressure on the 13th Congress of the Philippines to address the issue as a legislative priority. In response, Senator Joey Lina spearheaded the enactment of Republic Act 8049, also known as the Anti-Hazing Law of 1995. Now, after 21 years of implementation, the law is due for evaluation. This study covers the research design, selection of respondents, sampling technique, construction and validation of the research instrument, administration and retrieval of the instrument, and statistical treatment of data. A descriptive research method was used.   The respondents were divided into three groups: thirty (30) students, fifteen (15) student council members, and fifteen (15) school administrators, totaling sixty (60) participants. Data was collected through a survey questionnaire, which was distributed to the selected respondents. The gathered data was then analyzed and interpreted based on the study's findings. To complete this study effectively, it is essential to analyze the collected data and address the research questions. As discussed in the previous chapter, the data is interpreted using a descriptive approach. This chapter focuses on the presentation, analysis, and interpretation of the findings. The data is presented in tables and analyzed using descriptive ratings, as outlined below.  The findings reveal that the majority of respondents are aged 18-25 years old and single, with responses interpreted as "strongly agree." Regarding school safety, it is deemed sufficient due to the implementation of R.A. 11053. Prioritizing safety through stringent protocols and proactive measures ensures a secure environment for all individuals involved. The enforcement of the Anti-Hazing Law remains the most effective way to safeguard students and young individuals. This chapter aims to summarize the key findings that emerged from the study, highlighting what the research suggested, revealed, or indicated. It focuses on the overall outcomes rather than the conclusions or recommendations derived from them. Based on the analysis and interpretation of the data, the following findings are presented.
