Abstract

The aim of this research is to investigate the factors contributing to Republic Act 4136, also referred to as the Traffic Code of the Philippines, in Barangay 167 Llano Caloocan City. Republic Act 4136, referred to as the Traffic Code of the Philippines, is legislation aimed at compiling laws concerning land transportation and traffic regulations, establishing a land transportation commission, and serving other objectives The research employed a descriptive research design. Utilizing a purposive sampling technique, forty (40) drivers impacted by Republic Act 4136 and fifteen (15) barangay officials were chosen to be part of the study. The tool utilized for collecting data was a survey questionnaire, which was given to barangay officials and drivers. The collected data were assessed through mean, frequency, percentage, and weighted mean to examine and interpret the information obtained Based on the collected data, most respondents were males aged 26 to 33, married, and had completed their education at the college level. Drivers and barangay officials in Barangay 167 strongly concur with the assessment of the contributory factors impacting Republic Act 4136 in Barangay 167 Llano in Caloocan City. Agree is the outcome of the evaluation concerning knowledge, understanding of traffic regulations, behavior, and the structure and adherence to the system. Most respondents indicated that the statement “The lack of understanding regarding Republic Act 4136 has a negative impact on traffic in Barangay 167.” received the highest weighted mean The findings of the research indicate that road users assume personal responsibility for various traffic rules; it is crucial to enhance awareness about the significance of adherence via community campaigns and a greater presence of traffic enforcement officers. Drivers typically aid in maintaining a smooth traffic flow by avoiding road blockages, thus enhancing safety and reducing inconvenience for fellow road users. Law enforcement must strengthen its initiatives to tackle traffic offenders. Enforcing stricter punishments for individuals engaged in such activities might be crucial in addressing the problem of traffic law infringements. Effective planning results in structured traffic control, minimizing congestion, enhancing safety, and optimizing transportation efficiency
