Abstract

This research investigates the effectiveness of fire volunteer training programs, aiming to enhance their preparedness and ability to respond to fire emergencies. Fire volunteers are vital in protecting lives and property, contributing significantly to community resilience. While these programs are designed to equip volunteers with essential knowledge and skills, their overall effectiveness remains a point of evaluation. The study uses quantitative methods, including surveys and interviews, to gather valuable data for improving training approaches and curricula. By identifying successful practices and areas for improvement, the research aims to support the continuous enhancement of fire volunteer training programs, strengthening community resilience and reducing the impact of fire-related incidents. This research will adopt a quantitative approach, utilizing a descriptive research design to evaluate all the key variables of the study. Quantitative research involves systematically collecting and analyzing numerical data to draw meaningful conclusions. Data will be gathered from research participants through surveys, providing a structured method to assess the various factors under investigation. The respondents for this study will include 15 Fire Volunteers, 15 BFP personnel, and 20 community residents. The researcher will ensure that all participants are able to competently and thoroughly complete the survey questionnaires, providing the necessary information for the research. The researcher will personally approach the Fire Volunteers, BFP personnel, and community residents in Barangay 171, Caloocan City, and seek permission from local officials to conduct the study and involve participants. The researcher will distribute the questionnaires, remain present to address any questions, and wait until the participants have finished answering. Afterward, the completed questionnaires will be collected for analysis. The researchers propose the following recommendations for improving the training program:  Introduction of Specialized Rescue Equipment: It is recommended to integrate specialized rescue equipment into the training program to enhance its effectiveness and ensure long-lasting benefits for fire volunteers.  Continuous Support for the Training Program: The success of the training program for fire volunteers depends on sustained support from both the local government and the community. The barangay and local government should continue to allocate resources to maintain the program, as it has shown to be effective in strengthening the capabilities of fire volunteers.  Prioritizing Safety for Fire Volunteers: By focusing on these initiatives, Barangay 171 can work towards ensuring the safety and well-being of its fire volunteers, allowing them to perform their duties more efficiently and effectively during emergencies.
