ASSESSING THE EXTRA-CURRICULAR ENGAGEMENTS THAT AFFECT THE ENTHUSIASM OF SELECTED GRADE 11 HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES STUDENTS AT BESTLINK COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES

Many students today hesitate to participate in various school activities due to nervousness. However, engaging in extracurricular activities has significant benefits, including enhanced self-discovery, skill development, and real-world application of abilities. A comprehensive education incorporates extracurricular activities as they provide students with opportunities to apply academic knowledge in practical settings, reinforcing classroom learning and fostering personal growth. This study employed a quantitative research method using quota sampling to gather data from 150 Grade 11 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. The research aimed to assess how extracurricular engagement influences students' enthusiasm. A structured questionnaire served as the primary data collection tool, allowing researchers to obtain relevant responses from the participants. The study results indicate that extracurricular engagements influence the enthusiasm of selected Grade 11 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) students in terms of financial resources, facilities, and time management, as reflected by an overall weighted mean of 3.27. Additionally, extracurricular participation contributes to students' commitment, social communication, and skill development, with an overall weighted mean of 3.37. These findings highlight the significant role of extracurricular activities in shaping students' personal and academic growth. The discussion presents a summary of findings on the assessment of extracurricular engagements that influence the enthusiasm of selected Grade 11 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. The study highlights key factors such as financial resources, facilities, and time management, as well as the benefits students gain from participation, including commitment, social communication, and skill development. These insights emphasize the importance of extracurricular activities in enhancing students' overall academic and personal growth.
