Abstract

In recent years, it has become increasingly difficult to feel safe when venturing out alone, as there has been a rise in robbery incidents that cause fear among the public, not just at night but even during the day. The constant threat of becoming the next victim has created a sense of unease. These incidents not only jeopardize the safety and well-being of drivers and commuters, but also disrupt the local transportation network, further contributing to a growing sense of insecurity within the community. The researchers utilized a sampling technique and a descriptive research design, employing quantitative methods. The study involved a total of fifteen (15) tricycle drivers, ten (10) barangay officials, sixty-five (65) residents, and ten (10) police officers from Northville 2B, Bagumbong, Barangay 171, Caloocan City. To initiate the data collection process, the researchers formally requested permission from the office of Barangay 171, Caloocan City. They then approached the selected respondents—tricycle drivers, barangay officials, police officers, and residents—personally to ask for their consent to participate in the study. The questionnaires were physically distributed to the participants in Northville 2B, Bagumbong, Caloocan City. The researchers ensured that each respondent had enough time to complete the survey and subsequently collected the completed questionnaires. The results of the study on the "Assessment of Robbery Incidents at Northville 2B, Bagumbong, Barangay 171, Caloocan City" in terms of Modus Operandi, Economic Status of the Victim, Robbery Preventive Measures, and Robbery Deterrent Awareness show a strong consensus of "Strongly Agree" from the respondents. A major concern identified was the insufficient street lighting in the area, which contributes to a higher risk of robbery incidents. Based on these findings, the study recommends addressing this issue by improving street lighting in Northville 2B, Barangay 171, Caloocan City, as a means to enhance security and reduce the occurrence of robberies. This study recommends installing additional street lighting in key areas of Northville 2B, Barangay 171, Caloocan City, to enhance visibility and reduce the risk of criminal activities. Additionally, the researchers suggest launching a comprehensive educational awareness campaign to encourage residents to be more vigilant and proactive in reporting suspicious behavior.
