Abstract

The Alternative Dispute Resolution aims to prevent conflicts and resolve them sooner and more efficiently, benefiting both society and the economy. In light of the concerning problem of conflicts and disputes within a community, a system enabling individuals to settle disagreements without going to trial was established. The Alternative Dispute Resolution, also referred to as the Katarungang Pambarangay Justice System, seeks to enhance access to justice and alleviate court burdens The researcher utilized the Purposive Sampling method to select respondents from twenty Barangay employees and twenty residents of Barangay 177 Caloocan City, totaling 40 respondents. This study employs a descriptive research design to evaluate the effectiveness and influence of alternative dispute resolution on the inhabitants of Barangay 177 Caloocan City. The researchers directly engage with residents and workers in Barangay 177 Caloocan City to ask for their involvement in the research The research validates the efficiency of Alternative Dispute Resolution: its performance and influence on the residents of barangay 177 in Caloocan City. Based on the findings of this study, the respondents expressed strong agreement regarding the effectiveness and influence of alternative dispute resolution in settling disputes, particularly in areas like adjudication, procedures, agreements, and settlements; the typical cases managed by the Barangay Lupon primarily involve family conflicts, debt defaults, and threats. Issues faced by the respondents impacting the effectiveness of alternative dispute resolution largely stem from a lack of awareness and understanding; a strategy that could be suggested to tackle these issues is to pinpoint the primary problem in order to formulate potential solutions This study recommended that the barangay organize seminars on alternative dispute resolution to inform residents about peaceful resolution methods
