Abstract

JVD Event and Travel Management Company faced significant challenges in managing human resource processes, including inefficient recruitment, limited visibility of employee skills, and the absence of structured succession planning. To address these issues, this capstone project developed a Human Resource Management System (HRMS) comprising modules for Competency Management, Succession Planning, Learning Management, and Training Management. The system is integrated with Ag5 to enable real-time skills mapping. Its primary objective is to enhance strategic HR decision-making, foster employee development, and improve organizational agility. The project employed the Agile Scrum methodology, organizing development into iterative sprints with clearly defined roles, including Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Development Team. Laravel and MySQL were utilized to support back-end development, while Ag5 was integrated to facilitate advanced skill analytics. Regular interviews with JVD staff and iterative testing cycles ensured the system aligned with real operational requirements. Product and sprint backlogs were maintained to prioritize key features such as succession tracking, performance analysis, and training delivery. The implementation of the system significantly improved visibility into workforce skills and accelerated the identification of successors for critical roles. Employee engagement was enhanced through the introduction of gamified learning features. The integration of Learning Management System (LMS) and Training Management System (TMS) modules enabled real-time tracking of training progress and performance metrics. Automation of routine HR tasks reduced manual workload, while comprehensive dashboards provided actionable data to support informed human resource decision-making. The Human Resource Management System II (HR II) effectively addressed JVD’s challenges related to manual processing, high employee turnover, and limited workforce insights. By centralizing HR functions and integrating Ag5 for competency tracking, the system aligned talent management strategies with organizational goals. The use of Agile methodology facilitated continuous feedback, enhancing system usability and user adoption. Ultimately, the solution supports improved workforce planning, increased employee satisfaction, and reduced attrition rates.
