As the travel and tourism industry continues to evolve, so too do the operations of travel and tours businesses—particularly within their Human Resources (HR) departments. HR plays a vital role in managing personnel, maintaining employee records, monitoring attendance, and ensuring organizational efficiency. Challenges commonly include identifying suitable candidates, maintaining employee satisfaction, processing requests promptly, conducting real-time performance evaluations, and managing promotions and recognition. This study focuses on the development and implementation of the Travel and Tours Management System: Human Resource I, which includes modules for New Hire Onboarding and Employee Self-Service, Performance Management, Recruitment and Applicant Management, and Social Recognition—enhanced by an AI-powered candidate selection tool. The Agile methodology was applied to evaluate the effectiveness of this capstone project in enhancing employee satisfaction and operational efficiency. Following Agile principles, the development process included iterative planning, designing, development, testing, and deployment to ensure the system's usability and reliability. Insights regarding the implementation and its impact were gathered through an interview with the Chief Executive. The system was developed using PHP Laravel for the backend, JavaScript with Tailwind CSS for the frontend, and MySQL for database management. The results demonstrate significant improvements in the Human Resource processes following the implementation of the capstone project. Real-time updates on employee requests enhanced both satisfaction and operational efficiency. The systematic organization and secure storage of employee data fostered a greater sense of security among staff while also reducing errors and improving data accuracy. Additionally, the integration of the AI Candidate tool streamlined the recruitment process by efficiently matching applicant skills and qualifications with job postings, thereby minimizing manual screening efforts and reducing applicant wait times. The implementation of the system demonstrates its potential not only to enhance employee satisfaction and streamline HR processes but also to contribute to the overall business performance of the company. However, challenges such as cost preparation and training management must be addressed to fully maximize the system’s benefits. This research provides valuable insights for future developers and researchers aiming to modernize HR technologies within the travel and tourism industry. The study underscores the importance of continuous innovation in HR systems to meet the evolving demands of the sector and ensure sustainable operational improvements.
