Abstract

The Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) is responsible for community-based initiatives, conducting information drives to support the Philippine National Police (PNP) in their anti-crime efforts, preventing criminal activities, and resolving conflicts promptly. When necessary, cases may be escalated to the Barangay Justice System for proper handling. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a newly identified virus that causes an infectious disease, with patients potentially developing mild to moderate respiratory infections and recovering without specific treatment. Barangay Tanods play a key role in maintaining peace and order. The BPAT is a national PNP program designed to empower communities to respond in real time to matters related to peace and order, security, or rescue. (Dizon, 2020) This study employed a quantitative research design, using simple random sampling to give each barangay police officer, also known as a barangay tanod, in Barangay Graceville, City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, an equal chance of selection. The survey collected data on the demographic characteristics of the barangay police, as well as their strategies and behaviors in maintaining peace and order. This chapter details the research design, respondents, sampling technique, instruments used, construction and validation of research instruments, and the statistical treatment applied in the study. The data gathered were analyzed to answer the research questions and draw accurate conclusions. As indicated in the preceding chapter, data were interpreted in a descriptive correlational format. This chapter presents the procedures for reviewing and analyzing data, allowing researchers to categorize, manipulate, and summarize information to address key research questions. This chapter summarizes the study’s findings, showing the outcomes related to the operations and effectiveness of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team, rather than providing conclusions or recommendations.
