Benefits of Whole Day Class Schedule in Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences Students at Bestlink College of the Philippines

Abstract

The whole day class schedule has gained general recognition for being effective in enhancing students learning. It may also have longer school hours and additional resources provided by the education to enhance the quality of education of every student. Ina whole day class schedule, the students can enjoy more diverse learning experiences. Normally, students spend an average of 12 hours a day in school. In addition, these may include programs or activities for promoting knowledge to students. The students enjoy more flexibility in timetable setting. This study aimed to determine the benefits of a whole day class schedule in Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences Strand students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. The researchers used qualitative methods and descriptive research design. Survey questionnaires were administered and retrieved to gather information needed to discuss the topic. The researchers also utilized the convenience sampling technique in choosing 89 respondents. The statistical tool used were percentage, frequency distribution, and weighted mean. The results of the study showed that the whole day class schedule affects the learnings of the students, particularly in this aspect. Students gain more knowledge, with an average of 3.65. The whole day class schedule enhances students’ creativity in making a project. Attendance, with an average of 3.86, becomes beneficial to the students to improve their academic skills and develop their social skills. The whole day class schedule develops the students’ skills. The researchers suggested that the school must have teachers that are not only teaching academics but also entertaining students. The whole day class is a part of our education because it allows students to spend longer time in school and gives the possibility to gain more knowledge from that day.
