Level of Time Management and Academic Performances of Working Students among Selected BPED Students at Bestlink College of the Philippines
Vol.3, No.2
Abstract
In this study, the researchers reveal how students manage their time through factors affecting working students among selected BPED students, which include “I make a list of tasks to accomplish each day,” “I review my planner each day after I complete my tasks,” “I prioritize the tasks I have to do according to their importance and urgency,” “I set deadlines for myself, and I don't leave my work for tomorrow what I can do for today.” Meanwhile, Academic performance includes “I study and prepare for quizzes and tests,” “I complete the activities on time,” “l do my assignments before doing other work, “I submit my project on time, and I study the lessons I missed, if I was absent from the class.” There were problems for students who struggled to manage time. Hence, there were strategies that could be used to lessen poor time management in academic performance 1. Know how you spend your time. Analyze where you spend the most of your time. 2. Set Priorities. Making a distinction between what is important and what is urgent is necessary for efficient time management. 3. Use a planning tool to improve your productivity. Examples of personal planning tools include electronic planners, pocket diaries, calendars, computer programs, wall charts, index cards, and notebooks. Writing down your task schedule and memory joggers can free your mind to focus on your priorities. And lastly,4. Avoid multitasking. This time is lost when you transfer from one task to another, decreasing your productivity. When trying to do multiple things at once, it may be tough to focus and concentrate.
