Abstract

Insecticides are agents of chemical or biological origin that control insects. Control may result from killing the insect or preventing it from engaging in behavior deemed destructive. Insecticides may be natural or manmade and applied to target pests in a myriad of formulations and delivery systems. In recent years, the science of biotechnology has even incorporated bacterial gene coding for insecticidal proteins into various crop plants that deal death to unsuspecting pests that feed on them. Insecticides are substances used to kill insects. They include ovicides and larvicides that are used against insect eggs and larvae, respectively. Insecticides are used in agriculture, medicine, industry, as well as by consumers. Insecticides are a major factor behind the increase in the 20th century’s agricultural productivity. Nearly all insecticides can significantly alter ecosystems, many of which are toxic to humans and or animals. Some become concentrated as they spread along the food chain. The first step was to gather Bilimbi fruit, wash the fruit, and use the mortar and pestle to mash the fruit and get the extract. Then, we used the strainer to separate the extract from the fruit and then use the measuring cup to measure each solution (i.e., 75 ml). Then, we prepared the insects, sprayed 75 ml of the solution to the insects, and then observed them. The results of the product that weed conduct met our expectations in terms of effectiveness. The insects that we used in this experiment died easily but at different intervals with different measurements of the product. An effective and low-cost product can decrease the number of insects in our home. Many people are getting tired of what they have to use to kill insects in their houses. Bilimbi extract can kill many insects, such as earthworms, ants, fireflies, and termites mainly due to the abundance of the acids available in the Bilimbi extract. Bilimbi extract has a high level of oxalic acid that can kill insects.
