Level of Vices Addiction Among Youth at Barangay 176 Bagong Silang, Caloocan City

Abstract

This research study was conducted to assess, evaluate, and analyze the level of vice
addiction among youth at Barangay 176 Bagong Silang, Caloocan City. The youth face many
problems in this society, including problems in academics, family, or in terms of their personal
safety concerns. However, there were causes of this phenomenon, and one of these is the
level of vice addiction, which is a social phenomenon that can’t be minimized or reduced; even
the government implemented many policies, rules, and regulations and provision of laws for
the protection of youth in vices addiction. Furthermore, if a youth engages in a vice addiction,
there are huge negative implications that can be encountered, including the problem to mental
and physical health and problems in terms of his family, education, and peers. Therefore, the
researcher conducted this study to give an awareness of the benefits and protection of youth
in society that can cause their level of vice addiction.

It showed that the results gathered on the assessment were interpreted as strongly agree, the
problems encountered had to agree and strongly agree, and also the distribution of multiple
responses for the proposed measures.

The researcher utilized various data-gathering instruments, including the survey
questionnaire, interviews, and focus group discussion and observation. Hence, the data-
gathering procedure was done in a systematic manner, and then the researcher analyzed and
evaluated the feedback and information provided by the respondents using different statistical
formulas that gathered the findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
