This study was conducted to determine the Impact of Sleep Deprivation on Academic
Performance of Grade 12 Humanities and Social Science Students of Bestlink College of the
Philippines A.Y 2022-2023
The results showed that the inability to complete the attendance is the effect often
encountered by the students, with a weighted mean of 2.68, and the effects that are
sometimes encountered are frequent absences from class, with a 1.76 weighted mean. For
the problems that affect academic performance in terms of time management, Inconsistent
sleep schedules got the first rank with a weighted mean of 3.02, and the lowest rank is
excessive use of electronic devices with a weighted mean of 2.6, and for the lifestyle choices
and work obligation, Hard to retain information because of lack of and poor work performance
got the highest rank with the weighted mean of 2.82 and 2.66.
It is also recommended that students learn to prioritize things and balance their academic
activities as well as their sleep. For future researchers, it is recommended that the impact of
sleep deprivation on the academic performance of Grade 12 HUMSS students of Bestlink
College of the Philippines is studied.
