Abstract

This study aimed to determine the challenges experienced in strategies encountered by street
food vendors in terms of sales, customers, marketplace, safety regulations, gaining profit,
attracting customers, safety restrictions, and competitors.

Based on the result of the study, the proposed intervention and recommendation of the
relationship of the new normal to street food vendors addressed the above-cited variable and
helped the vendors to adapt and create new strategies in terms of (1) Sales - In the new
normal, businesses will need to adjust their sales strategies to accommodate changes in
consumer behavior. Additionally, businesses should consider leveraging data-driven insights
to better understand customer needs and preferences in order to create tailored experiences
that meet their expectations. (2) Customer - customers will be looking for businesses that
prioritize safety and convenience. They will expect contactless payment options, contactless
delivery services, and digital customer service. Businesses should also focus on providing a
personalized experience to their customers by leveraging data and technology to better
understand their needs. (3) Market Place - the marketplace will look different. Physical stores
may be closed or have limited capacity, and online shopping will become more popular. Social
distancing measures such as contactless payments and curbside pickups will be
commonplace. Businesses may need to adjust their operations to accommodate these
changes, such as offering virtual consultations or delivery services. Additionally, businesses
may need to invest in technology solutions that enable them to operate remotely and securely.
(4) Safety Regulations - Health and safety protocols for employees, such as temperature
checks and face masks, should be implemented in order to protect customers and staff alike.
(5) Gaining Profit - The profit of street vendors in the new normal will depend on a variety of
factors, including the type of goods they are selling, their location, and how well they are able
to adapt to the changing environment. Some vendors may find that their profits have
decreased due to reduced foot traffic or fewer customers willing to purchase from them. (6)
Attracting customers - Offering discounts or promotions is a great way to attract customers in
the new normal. Consider offering discounts for online orders or loyalty programs that reward
customers for repeat purchases. (7) Safety Restrictions - People should maintain a distance of
at least 6 feet from each other in public places. Everyone should wear a face mask when out in
public to reduce the spread of the virus. (8) Competitors - 1. Online Food Delivery Services are
the biggest competitors of Street Food Vendors.
