Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using a queuing number in the payment services of cashiers in Bestlink College of the Philippines. Queuemeans the mathematical study of waiting lines; it is also the process of waiting or scheduling. As a student, we want to help the school to enhance the services of cashier because it has been observed lately that the process of waiting line is getting slower than usual, especially every time the students’ needs to pay for their miscellaneous fee. The results of the study can be used as a basis to improve cashier services. The research design used in this study was descriptive. The study used the survey method, which is precise and the easiest way to collect the data that we needed. The respondents were 50Grade 12 Accountancy, Business, and Management students that were selected through the convenience sampling technique. Based on the results of the study, using queuing numbers enhanced payment transactions and the services of the cashiers in using queuing numbers in terms of the following. (1) Number of transactions of payment –Queuing number represents the number of transactions; hence, there must be one queue number per payee to avoid long transactions of payment. (2) Durationper transaction –Using the queuing number helps to shorten the waiting line and duration per transaction. Based on the results, the results recommended the following. (1) Number of transactions of payment –Limiting the number of transactions means the number of the students must have the limit in the capacity of 500 students per day. To avoid the cut-offs that can waste the time of the students by waiting in the waiting line. (2) Durationper transaction –Set a duration per transaction between the payee and the cashier personnel because the more that the transaction continues to get longer the waiting line as well. (3) Number of cashiers –The number of cashiers should be increased, or a payment department should be established on the MV campus.
