Increasing Scores of Grade 12 ABM Students in Accounting Activities by Using Video Tutorials in Bestlink College of the Philippines

Abstract

To provide the effectiveness of using online video tutorials and increase the score of Grade 12 Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM)students in accounting activities in Bestlink College of the Philippines, this study examined the opinion of the students through the instructional materials used, such as video tutorials and accounting activities. Video tutorial presentation was also used in two sections to compare the liability of the instructional materials and increase the scores of Grade 12 ABM students. This study aimed to help Grade 12 ABM students in BestlinkCollege of the Philippines improve their scores in accounting and help them understand accounting lessons. To produce quality research material, the researchers will make sure that they formulated problems for the entire research to be thoroughly executed. The data gathered will also be accurately analyzed, thereby leading to a good result in the end. The researchers of this study used the survey method. Based on the analyzed data about the question regarding the accounting activities affecting the accounting skills of Grade 12 ABM students in accounting subjects found positive effects, such as journalizing, posting, and balance sheet, this research found that the respondents found a positive effect in journalizing. For posting, accurate entries were the priority in posting general entries in the ledger for every transaction made. Every sheet transaction made should be recorded following their assets, noncurrent assets, liabilities, and capital because it determined the cash and debts monthly or yearly for the balance sheet aspect. Regardingconducting video tutorials to increase the scores in accounting activities of Grade 12 ABM students, the research showed that in the aspect of journalizing, posting, and balance sheets, conducting video tutorials increased the scores in accounting activities of theGrade 12 ABM students. The research showed that in the aspect of journalizing, posting, and balance sheets, conducting video tutorials helped the students effectively learn their lessons in accounting and eventually increase their respective scores in different activities. This study also found a significant difference in the score of Grade 12 ABM students in accounting activities between ABM 12-16 with video tutorials and ABM 12-11 without video tutorials. The accounting course is undeniably difficult in all aspects for the students who only started taking the subject. Each student experienced hardships and struggles along the way in some cases, taking unreasonable actions to walk away from the hardships that they experienced are evident. Thus, this study was formulated. The researchers think that performing this research gave chances and opportunities to the students having a hard time increasing their grades, especially in accounting subjects. The researchers of this study hope that learning accounting through instructional materials is helpful and useful for the students in passing the scores. This study is also helpful to those who are planning to take the necessary course in the future as a whole and not only to all Grade 12 ABM students.
