Abstract

Minor Basilica of Black Nazarene, also known as Quiapo Church, is one of the most famous historical churches in the Philippines. It also has the dark statue of Jesus Christ or the Black Nazarene, which made it more popular. It became a tourist attraction for many foreign and fellow citizens where many devotees will come and visit especially during the feast of Black Nazarene held on January 9 every year. However, the most popular is the Quiapo Church, in which many devotees and believers will come to this church but cause many problems. The research method of design utilized in this is quantitative analysis. The participants of the study were limited to 10 4th-year Architecture students and 10 5th-year Civil Engineering students who assessed the level of acceptability of the miniature of the renovated Minor Basilica of Black Nazarene. The two groups of the respondents obtained the composite mean of 3.63 for Architecture students, which is highly acceptable, and 3.66 for Civil Engineering students, as highly acceptable. In terms of concept, Architecture students got 3.70, which was highly acceptable, and Civil Engineering students got 3.66, which was highly acceptable. In terms of design, Architecture students obtained 3.52, which was highly acceptable, and Civil Engineering students got 3.61, which was highly acceptable. In terms of the realistic aspect, Architecture students got 3.80, which was highly acceptable, and Civil Engineering students got 3.75, which was highly acceptable. In terms of presentation, Architecture students got 3.53, which was highly acceptable, and Civil Engineering students obtained 3.65, which was highly acceptable. The result can be forwarded to improve the project such as (1) using the SketchUp app in measuring the exact measure of miniature, (2) using proper material to become it presentable, and (3) making concrete decisions about the time allotted in the process of making the miniature.
