Abstract

One of the goals of this action research was to provide knowledge to students who do not know how to use correct Filipino words. It is the best way to improve the grammar and enhance the knowledge of Grade 11 Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) Strandstudents of the Bestlink College of the Philippines regarding Filipino words. This study used a descriptive research design. We used the survey method in this study. A total of 50 grade 11 ABM students of Bestlink College of the Philippines were chosen as respondents. The result of this study revealed that the difficulties encountered by using the Filipino language are unfamiliar words and colloquial words. Most Filipinos also use the English language instead of the Filipino language, thereby affecting the communication of the people by using our native language in formal and proper settings. The results of this study suggested that students should use the Filipino language through communication in any situation. This study also showed that teachers should guide and encourage their students to properly use the native language. The school administrator should also conduct seminars for the students and teachers to empower them about the findings of this study. The researchers also suggested that future researchers should use this work as their reference for their study if they want to know how to enhance the students’ knowledge of Filipino words.
