Abstract

This research study focused on the effectiveness of recycling junk food plastic waste into a lampshade for Grade 12 Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) Strand students of the Bestlink College of the Philippines. This study presented how recycling will help the students and the environment. A qualitative method was implemented, and this study used a descriptive type of research to show the results. The information was collected through questionnaires that were distributed to 50 selected Grade 12 ABM Strand students. Few variables of recycling junk food, such as well-organized, saving space, beautiful ambiance, saving the environment, reducing waste, saving money, students’ creativeness, cleanliness, and discipline, were considered. The results of the study revealed that well-organized is a factor in the effectiveness of recycling junk food in the students. Therefore, a student should learn how to recycle effectively. The results demonstrated the value of recycling junk food for students to understand and be aware of its effect on their surroundings and especially our nature and encourage themselves to recycle. A program/workshop must be implemented to teach students the value of recycling and perform recycling.
