TRAFFIC CONTROL CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED BY THE DISTRICT OFFICE TRAFFIC PERSONNEL ALONG SUSANO ROAD, NOVALICHES QUEZON CITY

Traffic congestion and management have become pressing issues in urban areas worldwide. The steady rise in population, urbanization, and vehicle ownership has exacerbated traffic problems. Rapid urbanization has concentrated people and economic activity in cities, increasing the demand for transportation. As a result, the growing number of vehicles on the road has led to widespread congestion, causing environmental harm and significant economic losses. This study will employ a descriptive qualitative research approach to achieve its objectives. Descriptive qualitative research focuses on capturing the richness, complexity, and nuances of a phenomenon from the perspective of those involved. This is typically conducted through methods such as interviews, observations, and content analysis. The goal is to provide a comprehensive narrative and a deeper understanding of the study's subject. The research aims to identify the challenges faced in traffic control along Susano Road, Novaliches, Quezon City, as managed by the District Traffic Management. The respondents will include 20 traffic enforcers from the District Traffic Management office, 20 drivers, 12 students, and 8 call center agents who frequently travel along Susano Road. The study's findings indicate that traffic engineering received an overall weighted mean rating of 3.68, interpreted as Agree. Traffic discipline had an overall weighted mean rating of 3.41, interpreted as Neither Agree nor Disagree. Similarly, traffic guidance seminars received an overall weighted mean rating of 3.35, also interpreted as Neither Agree nor Disagree. To address the traffic control challenges encountered by the District Traffic Management Office along Susano Road, Novaliches, Quezon City, several measures may be proposed. These include conducting regular meetings and briefings with agency representatives to discuss ongoing and upcoming road projects, traffic management strategies, and other relevant issues. Additionally, specific measures should be proposed to reduce the challenges in traffic management along Susano Road, ensuring more efficient and effective traffic control.
