Abstract

This research concentrates on identifying the most efficient language for interaction among grade 11 senior high school students at Bestlink College of the Philippines, primarily considering English and Filipino. It seeks to emphasize difficulties in communication between the English and Filipino languages to better prepare students for educational and professional environments, ultimately improving their communication abilities. The study intends to pinpoint barriers in message delivery in both English and Filipino, supporting informed choices in communication and linguistics. The researchers employed a quota sampling method to gather data from three hundred (300) grade 11 senior high school students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. A questionnaire was utilized by the researchers as a data collection instrument to gather the responses from the study's participants. The results showed that grade 11 senior high school students have a strong command of English and Filipino language communication regarding: comprehension with a weighted mean of 3. 16, categorized as agree and interpreted as proficient; diction with a weighted mean of 3. 09 characterized as agree and understood as proficient; and grammar with a weighted mean of 3. 02 labeled as agree and analyzed as proficient. Furthermore, there are several advantages in terms of public speaking with a weighted mean of 3. 29, classified as strongly agree and interpreted as highly proficient; vocabulary has a weighted mean of 2. 93, categorized as agree and interpreted as proficient; and writing formal documents with a weighted mean of 3. 22, which is categorized as agree and understood as proficient. This offers a recap of the results concerning the proficiency level of grade 11 senior high school learners at Bestlink College of the Philippines. It features the conclusions and suggestions made by the researchers to improve their skills in both English and Filipino languages.
