Abstract

Traffic incidents, typically described as collisions involving vehicles, pedestrians, or objects that lead to fatalities, injuries, and property damage, rank among the most significant challenges confronting many nations globally. They have consistently been a leading contributor to human and economic losses in both affluent and less affluent countries, including the Philippines. The significance of traffic regulations is indubitable, as their fundamental purpose is to safeguard the lives of drivers and passengers alike. A solid understanding of traffic regulations and improved driving skills renders the driver more professional and reduces the likelihood of traffic accidents or disruptions on the roads. Addressing these issues has been associated with the lack of awareness among motorcyclists and compliance with traffic laws. The researcher recognized that this investigation is essential to assess whether motorcyclists in Novaliches Proper, Quezon City adhere to traffic rules and regulations. The participants in the study were made up of two groups, including twenty-five motorcyclists aged between 18 and 55 years and over twenty-five traffic controllers. Random sampling was employed to choose the respondents. This research is a descriptive study that measures and examines the gathered data to reach the findings. The researchers compose a letter to seek permission from the Land Transportation Office located in Novaliches Proper, Quezon City. Our Department of Criminology at Bestlink College Philippines is set to initiate the study. The researchers distributed a questionnaire to selected motorcyclists and traffic controllers in Novaliches Proper, Quezon City. The survey indicated and reported that the respondents "strongly agree" with the frequent infractions of the Land Transportation Bureau concerning the awareness level of motorcyclists regarding traffic laws and regulations, traffic signs, traffic safety, and programs. Motorcyclists in Novaliches predominantly use low-quality helmets or those lacking the ICC sticker. A potential suggested action to decrease traffic violations by drivers is to carry out random inspections of vehicles to verify the validity of license plates and registration documents. That research suggested more stringent traffic enforcement and additional seminars to enhance motorcyclists' understanding on the road, prevent accidents, and ensure the safety and awareness of both motorcyclists and local residents. Develop campaigns to inform the public regarding traffic regulations, safe driving habits, and the significance of adhering to traffic laws.
