This study aims to determine the impact of technological gadgets on the mental health of GAS 12 learners at Bestlink College of the Philippines. Understanding how gadgets influence well-being, academic performance, and social interactions can provide valuable insights. The study also seeks to identify how many students are affected and to monitor their mental health concerning gadget use. This research employs a descriptive quantitative design using surveys to gather data from GAS 12 learners. According to Eggen & Kauchak (2010), descriptive research involves tests, surveys, interviews, and observations to analyze characteristics of a given phenomenon. Gravetter & Forzano (2018) further emphasized that surveys are a key tool in descriptive research. The study uses surveys to examine how technological gadgets impact students' mental health, well-being, and academic performance. Among 108 respondents, many reported experiencing negative effects of gadget use, including addiction, sleep problems, and academic distractions. Additionally, 84 respondents acknowledged that gadgets facilitate communication, while 65 individuals identified addiction as a prevalent issue. 53 respondents also highlighted academic distraction as a concern. The findings indicate that technological gadgets significantly impact students’ mental health. While most respondents recognize their benefits for communication, many also report negative effects such as addiction, sleep disturbances, and academic distractions. Notably, 41 respondents reported using gadgets for 4–5 hours daily, which may contribute to these issues. Additionally, cyberbullying and depression were also identified as concerns. These results highlight the need for responsible gadget use and awareness to minimize its negative effects on students' well-being.
