Abstract

Employee engagement is a key factor that influences an organization’s productivity and overall success. In the case of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MIMAROPA, understanding the impact of employee engagement on office productivity is essential for cultivating a motivated, efficient, and committed workforce. Employee engagement refers to the level of emotional commitment and enthusiasm employees have toward their work, which directly affects their performance and their contribution to achieving organizational goals.  The primary purpose of this study is to acknowledge the contributions of employees who dedicate their efforts to helping the organization achieve its objectives. By exploring the connection between employee engagement and office productivity, this research aims to provide valuable insights into how fostering greater engagement can lead to higher productivity, improved morale, and overall organizational success. The findings from this study will serve as a foundation for strategies that aim to enhance employee engagement and, in turn, boost productivity within DSWD MIMAROPA. This study adopted a Quantitative Descriptive Research design, utilizing a survey method to collect data from administrative employees of DSWD MIMAROPA. The objective was to assess the relationship between employee engagement and office productivity and to gather feedback on areas for improvement.  The researcher employed purposive sampling, selecting participants based on their willingness to provide valuable insights into improving job satisfaction and engagement. Employees were chosen for their ability to offer recommendations and suggestions that could enhance their productivity and overall satisfaction in the workplace. This sampling approach ensured that the study focused on individuals who could contribute meaningfully to the research by sharing their perspectives on ways to improve employee engagement and productivity. The study’s findings provide valuable insights into the demographic profile of the administrative employees at DSWD MIMAROPA. Out of the 28 respondents, 35.71% are aged 37 years and above and have 2 to 4 years of experience in their current roles. This demographic data helps identify the workforce’s characteristics, which can influence strategies for improving employee engagement and satisfaction.  Additionally, the study explored various factors that impact employee engagement and satisfaction. It aimed to identify effective methods to enhance these areas, with the goal of fostering a more motivated and committed workforce. The results suggest that understanding these factors is key to developing strategies that can boost employee motivation. By implementing tailored engagement initiatives, the organization can create an environment that improves employee satisfaction, productivity, and overall performance. These findings offer practical insights for DSWD MIMAROPA in developing strategies to enhance employee engagement and productivity. The results reveal that employees want their efforts to be recognized, with a strong emphasis on having their needs met and their sacrifices acknowledged by the company. The study underscores the crucial role of employee engagement in the growth and success of the organization. Employees are more motivated and committed when they feel valued and supported.  To ensure long-term success, companies must prioritize the well-being of their employees by providing emotional, mental, and physical support. By actively listening to employees and addressing their concerns, organizations can cultivate a more engaged and loyal workforce. Recognizing employees as essential to the company's success will enhance motivation, productivity, and overall organizational performance. This research highlights the importance of fostering employee engagement for sustainable growth and success.
