Abstract

Digital learning boosts student engagement through interactive content and personalized experiences, yet its impact on academic performance varies. Factors like internet connection and technical issues influence students' academic performance. Understanding the effect of digital learning on student academic performance is crucial for maximizing its benefits. Overall, the researchers developed this study to investigate the effects of digital learning on student academic performance as perceived by Grade 12 Humanities and Social Science students at Bestlink College of the Philippines; specifically, the effects of digital learning on student academic performance in terms of internet connection, digital literacy, and devices. This study utilized the descriptive quantitative research design. We also used the simple random sampling technique and Slovin’s formula to gather 150 Grade 12 Humanities and Social Science students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. To answer the research problems, the instrument used was a survey questionnaire, with statistical tools employed such as frequency and percentage, ranking mean, and the Likert scale. From the foregoing analysis and interpretations made in the results, the effect of digital learning on student academic performance in terms of internet connection, digital literacy, and devices is described based on our interpretations as "Agree." Additionally, there are some academic benefits the students can acquire from using digital learning on student academic performance, and it’s described as "Strongly Agree" in terms of learning efficiency, accessibility, and collaboration. Based on the results presented, the following recommendations are forwarded: encourage your friends and classmates to seek out schools that offer free internet access and computer facilities for students; invite your peers to participate in seminars about the proper use of digital learning to enhance their digital literacy skills; and advise your friends to seek guidance from a technical support service if their devices are having technical issues.
