Abstract

Stress is a common element of numerous emotions including anxiety, frustration, anger, worry, fear, sadness, and despair. We experience considerable pressure as we pursue our education. Academic stress ranks as one of the leading causes of stress, anxiety, and depression in Senior High School Students. We face academic stress at anticipated moments each semester, with the most considerable factors contributing to academic stress stemming from test preparation, competition for grades, and the vast amount of material to absorb in a restricted timeframe. The research employed a descriptive-quantitative approach to investigate the academic year 2023-2024 of ten grade 11 and twenty grade 12 pupils at Bestlink College of the Philippines Bulacan. Grade 11 and 12 Students in the General Academic Strand. The questionnaire utilized in this quantitative research consists of questions and multiple choices to consolidate all the data. We observed that all the participants are undergoing stress in the study. The participants were primarily 17–18 years old, and the majority of the participants are male (50%). Grade 11 and 12 students who took part in the study had a composite mean of three-point-twenty-six (3. 26). The challenges faced by GAS students make this situation difficult and impact their academic performance, with a composite mean of three-point-twenty-five (3. 25). Coping with this is tough on students who are going through it. The composite score of three-point-seventeen (3. 17) indicates their agreement. Additionally, it is recommended that educators assist their General Academic Strand pupils. Academic pressure is a frequent issue, arising from exams, expectations, and support systems along with time management. Although managing achievable objectives, prioritizing tasks, and taking breaks can aid in alleviating stress, academic success can also result in heightened levels of anxiety, depression, and physical health issues such as insomnia. Elevated stress levels can also put a strain on relationships with family members. Pursuing support and utilizing effective stress management strategies can also help mitigate negative academic stress.
