Abstract

The Logistics Management System: "Streamlining Logistics with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Documentation Compliance Modules." In today’s fast-paced business environment, efficient logistics management is essential. Our integrated solution simplifies this process by combining Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) technology with a Documentation Compliance module. EDI enhances communication throughout the supply chain, eliminating manual procedures and reducing errors. Meanwhile, our Documentation Compliance module ensures compliance with regulatory standards, minimizing the risk of delays or penalties caused by document-related issues. The Agile Methodology was applied in this study to develop a comprehensive Logistics Management System: Improving Logistics with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Documentation Compliance. This approach follows an iterative process of development. It starts with gathering requirements from key stakeholders, followed by the design of the system's architecture, features, and integration with other modules. The process includes prototyping to verify and refine the proposed solution. Once validated, the development phase—comprising programming, design, and implementation—proceeds in accordance with the approved specifications. Logistics Management Systems (LMS) rely on Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for its significant advantages. EDI facilitates real-time monitoring throughout the manufacturing process, improving data accuracy, reducing errors, and optimizing operations. By eliminating human data entry mistakes, EDI ensures precise information. It also automates connections between partners and the exchange of documents, streamlining workflows and allowing staff to focus on more valuable tasks. Furthermore, EDI enhances visibility, enabling more effective tracking of shipments, quicker identification of issues, and faster inventory management. In addition, LMS require robust documentation and compliance procedures to ensure seamless operations. The implementation of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) in Logistics Management Systems (LMS) automates data exchanges, improves accuracy, and simplifies processes. Compliance is ensured through proper documentation, although certain costs or resources may not be covered in this research. By optimizing documentation, compliance, and EDI, LMS performance can be enhanced, providing a competitive advantage and making risk management more efficient.
