This study examines the level of preparedness of selected Grade 12 students at Bestlink College of the Philippines in undertaking research subjects. It aims to assess their readiness in terms of resource availability, effectiveness, and participation. Additionally, it explores how preparedness influences students' research knowledge, access to sources, and engagement in group activities. The study seeks to provide practical strategies to enhance students’ research readiness. This research adopts a descriptive research design, surveying 150 Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences students at Bestlink College. A simple random sampling technique was utilized to select participants, and data were gathered through structured survey questionnaires. The findings reveal varying levels of preparedness among students. While some exhibit strong research skills, others encounter difficulties in sourcing information and participating in group tasks. The study identifies key factors affecting students’ readiness and proposes targeted strategies to improve research preparedness. The discussion emphasizes the need for educational interventions and additional resources to address gaps in students’ research preparedness. Recommendations include enhancing training programs, fostering supportive learning environments, and encouraging collaboration. The findings provide insights for educators and institutions to refine research-based curricula and support student success in research-intensive courses.
