Abstract

Front office management is a comprehensive field that encompasses planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling front office operations. This subject is designed to equip both students and professionals with essential skills, transforming them into polished, value-adding assets in the hospitality industry. It provides hands-on practical knowledge, exposing learners to industry best practices and emerging trends.  This study explores the impact of simulation activities, laboratory familiarization, and communication skills development strategies on the learning experience of Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students specializing in front office management at Bestlink College of the Philippines. This study utilized a quantitative research design to ensure reliability and validity. Data was collected from 100 fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students through a simple random sampling technique to assess the effectiveness of these practices in improving student readiness for the workforce. The results reveal that the most significant issue reported by respondents is the limited class schedule, with 70 out of 100 students emphasizing its impact. While students acquired valuable front office skills, challenges and obstacles persisted. This suggests that although they were able to apply their skills, further improvements are needed in the implementation and execution of front office training. Based on the gathered data and conclusions, the researchers recommend enhancing the learning experience by expanding simulation activities, increasing student engagement, and providing essential equipment for hands-on training. Additionally, they suggest that the administration support practical learning by establishing a structured timetable to prevent scheduling conflicts and offering alternative tasks for emergencies. These strategies aim to foster active learning, build student confidence, and enhance subject comprehension, ultimately improving the overall educational experience.
