Abstract

Implementing a web-based Freight Management System (FMS) is crucial for mitigating potential risks and enhancing operational efficiency within a firm. This project aims to design, develop, test, and integrate a comprehensive system encompassing invoice and payment processing, freight auditing, and claims management. By ensuring accurate freight pricing and prompt dispute resolution, the FMS seeks to improve financial operations and reduce discrepancies. The Agile Scrum approach is being applied to this project to highlight flexibility, cooperation, and teamwork. We split the project’s development into four stages. The initial phase is planning, where the team collaborates to define the project's objectives, boundaries, and key participants. We will gather regularly to talk about the tasks that need to be done, such as forming the sprint and product backlogs. After the planning stage, we will move on to the sprint phase, where the team usually assesses their performance and implements necessary enhancements over a defined period. Following the sprint phase, we will enter the review phase, which involves conducting a review meeting to examine the completed work, address any issues that have come up, and implement any required changes to the plans The systems for managing invoices and payments have all yielded notable results. The system simplifies and automates billing processes, decreasing manual effort and possible errors. From a financial perspective, enhanced accuracy in invoice management has resulted in clearer and more efficient payment procedures This study examined the impact of integrating invoice and payment management, freight auditing, and claims management into a single system to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Our findings revealed significant improvements. While previous research highlights the individual benefits of invoicing automation, freight auditing, and claims management, this study demonstrates the added value of combining these elements into a unified platform. This comprehensive approach surpasses standalone solutions in efficiency, cost savings, and visibility.
