Abstract

The study collected descriptive data from 100 individuals (26% male and 74% female) to gather numerical insights on how integrated work experience and clerical skills serve as a basis for graduate employment. We utilized a structured questionnaire for data collection. The respondents were graduates from the Office Administration Department at Best link College of the Philippines.  The study employed purposive sampling, a non-probability technique where participants are selected based on specific characteristics relevant to the research objectives. This method is particularly useful when the researcher aims to focus on particular subsets of a population that are knowledgeable about or have experienced the phenomenon under study.  To ensure the validity of our data collection instrument, we focused on content validity. Content validity refers to the extent to which a measure represents all facets of a given construct. In our case, this involved aligning the questionnaire items with the study's objectives to accurately assess the relationship between work experience, clerical skills, and graduate employment. We consulted subject matter experts to review the questionnaire, ensuring that each item was essential and relevant to the constructs being measured. This process aimed to confirm that the instrument comprehensively covered the necessary content areas, thereby enhancing the study's overall validity. The study collected descriptive data from 100 individuals (26% male and 74% female) to examine how integrated work experience and clerical skills serve as foundations for graduate employment. We utilized a structured questionnaire for data collection, targeting graduates from the Office Administration Department at Best link College of the Philippines.  The study employed purposive sampling, a non-probability technique where participants are selected based on specific characteristics relevant to the research objectives. This approach is particularly effective when the researcher aims to focus on subsets of a population that possess particular knowledge or experience related to the study's focus. The study reveals that graduates experienced minimal challenges in career progression, reflected by a total weighted score of 3.44, interpreted as 'very satisfied'. This high satisfaction level suggests that their employment aligns well with their career expectations. Job satisfaction was notably high among respondents, with a weighted mean score of 3.37, also interpreted as 'very satisfied', indicating a positive perception of their roles and responsibilities.  A positive work environment has been shown to enhance employee performance. For instance, research indicates that a supportive company culture can significantly boost employee happiness, leading to increased productivity and profitability. Additionally, studies have found that job satisfaction significantly influences employee performance, with satisfied employees often demonstrating higher productivity and engagement. The study indicates that graduate employees experienced a high level of comfort and encountered minimal challenges in their career progression. They also faced fewer problems within their work environment. This positive atmosphere is associated with enhanced employee performance, commitment, and achievement striving. Moreover, these employees effectively applied their clerical skills in their roles.  Research supports that a positive work environment fosters emotional intelligence, which enhances collaboration and task performance. Additionally, positive psychological capital, including hope and resilience, correlates with improved job satisfaction, commitment, and performance. Effective leadership also plays a crucial role; leaders who recognize and empower employees contribute to higher engagement and productivity.
