Abstract

This study explores the transformative impact of off-campus activities on the learning development of College of Teacher Education students, in alignment with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) guidelines and legal frameworks. The integration of extracurricular activities, as mandated by CHED Memorandum Order No. 63 Series of 2017, aims to enrich students' educational experiences by bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world applications.​  Benefits of Off-Campus Activities:  Enhanced Academic Performance: Participation in extracurricular activities has been associated with improved academic outcomes, including higher attendance rates, increased school engagement, and elevated grade point averages. ​  Personal Development: Off-campus activities provide opportunities for students to develop essential life skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, and self-confidence. ​ theguardian.com  Social Integration: Engaging in diverse activities allows students to form meaningful relationships, fostering a sense of community and belonging. ​  Professional Preparedness: Work-integrated learning experiences, such as internships and field placements, equip students with practical skills and enhance their employability upon graduation. ​ files.ascd.org  Recommendations for Implementation:  Curriculum Integration: Incorporate structured off-campus activities into the curriculum to ensure all students have access to experiential learning opportunities.​  Collaboration with Industry Partners: Establish partnerships with educational institutions, community organizations, and industry leaders to offer a diverse range of off-campus activities.​  Continuous Assessment: Implement mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of off-campus activities in contributing to students' academic and personal growth, making necessary adjustments based on feedback.​  By embracing these recommendations, educational institutions can foster a holistic learning environment that not only adheres to CHED guidelines but also significantly enhances the overall development of future educators.
