ERGONOMIC WORKPLACE STRUCTURE AND EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE AT STORYA KITCHEN + BAR: AN ANALYSIS

In the restaurant industry, employees often encounter safety hazards. Common injuries include sprains, strains, burns, and slips. The purpose of this study is to determine whether ergonomic workplace structures are present at Storya Kitchen + Bar. The researcher aims to understand how ergonomic workplace structures can improve employee productivity and work performance. This study used a correlation research design to ensure validity and reliability. The researchers employed purposive sampling to distribute the questionnaires and used a survey questionnaire to gather data. The main focus of the study is the employees of Storya Kitchen + Bar, with a total of thirty respondents. Based on the study’s findings, the employees of Storya Kitchen + Bar are primarily between 20 and 25 years old. The majority are female, comprising 60% of the workforce, while males account for 40%. In terms of length of service, 50% of the respondents have been working at the restaurant for more than a year. Most employees work full-time, making up 63% of the total workforce. The majority of respondents at Storya Kitchen + Bar believe that the restaurant's ergonomic design is highly effective in enhancing productivity and work performance. The study showed that employee performance is significantly influenced by the ergonomic workplace structure. Overall, the data highlight that Storya Kitchen + Bar is committed to providing a workplace that promotes employee efficiency and productivity. Maintaining and improving these ergonomic structures can further enhance operational effectiveness and the customer experience within the establishment. The study also emphasizes the effectiveness of workstation design, equipment and tools, storage and organization, as well as ventilation and lighting. Additionally, it highlights success in cultivating a workforce characterized by strong personal traits, excellent work performance, effective interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude and commitment. This study recommends that entrepreneurs maintain a proper workplace structure to enhance employee productivity and efficiency. Managers should provide quick solutions to workplace challenges that may hinder productivity. Additionally, employees should maintain a well-organized storage area for supplies and equipment, enabling staff to access items quickly and efficiently.
