Abstract

This study examines the efficiency of traffic enforcers and the role of training programs in enhancing their effectiveness. As traffic regulations evolve, road conditions change, and new technologies emerge, ongoing training is essential. The study aims to determine whether training programs are necessary for traffic enforcers to adapt to these changes and improve traffic management. The study employed a descriptive qualitative research design. The researchers selected fifteen (15) traffic enforcers, twenty (20) commuters, and fifteen (15) drivers from Novaliches, Quezon City, using purposive sampling. A request letter was prepared, and respondents were personally approached for participation. A survey questionnaire was distributed and collected upon completion. The findings indicate that most traffic enforcers are aged 26-33 (32%) and predominantly male (64%). Regarding educational attainment, 28% have attended college. Additionally, 44% have been employed for 7-11 months. The respondents strongly agreed (overall mean of 3.32) that knowledge of traffic rules and regulations is crucial. However, challenges include enforcing laws on distracted drivers who are preoccupied with their phones, passengers, or other factors. The study highlights that many respondents believe driver non-compliance with traffic regulations is a significant issue. As a solution, public awareness programs should be implemented to influence motorists' perceptions and behaviors regarding traffic violations. Various communication platforms such as radio, television, social media, and outdoor advertisements should be utilized to educate drivers about road safety and the importance of adhering to traffic laws.
