This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) efforts in minimizing disaster impact and ensuring efficient response within Brgy. 185, Malaria, Caloocan City. It assesses the measures and strategies implemented by DRRM officers to determine their contribution to community disaster preparedness and resilience. The study utilized a quantitative research design, selecting 60 respondents, including DRRM LGU members, 20 Barangay officials, and 30 residents from Brgy. 185, Malaria, Caloocan City. Purposive sampling was employed to identify participants. Findings indicate that respondents strongly agreed on the effectiveness of DRRM in managing disasters in their community. The study revealed that while respondents acknowledged the effectiveness of DRRM, challenges in disaster response persist. Proposed measures to address these challenges include improved resource mobilization for rapid response and budget allocation for personal protective equipment (PPE) to enhance the safety and efficiency of DRRM officers. The study recommends that DRRM officers and Barangay officials conduct regular seminars and training programs for disaster responders to enhance their efficiency in emergencies. Additionally, awareness programs for the community on disaster mitigation, preparedness, prevention, and response are essential to improving overall disaster resilience.
