Efficient asset utilization plays a crucial role in inventory management and facility space administration for businesses. Optimizing the use of assets such as inventory, storage space, and equipment can result in substantial cost savings, enhanced operational efficiency, and a stronger competitive position in the market. Despite its importance, many businesses face challenges in maximizing asset utilization, leading to inefficiencies, surplus inventory, and underutilized space. This study seeks to assess the current state of asset utilization in inventory optimization and facility space management, identify key challenges and opportunities, and propose actionable strategies for improvement. To achieve the study’s objectives, a comprehensive research methodology was implemented, incorporating quantitative analysis, case studies, and an extensive review of relevant literature. Data on inventory levels, facility layouts, asset utilization rates, and other key metrics were gathered through surveys, interviews, and the examination of operational records. Statistical methods, such as regression analysis and data visualization, were utilized to evaluate current asset utilization levels and identify areas with significant potential for improvement. The results of the asset utilization assessment reveal several critical findings. Many businesses were found to be operating below optimal asset utilization levels, resulting in poor inventory turnover rates and underutilized facility space. Furthermore, an evaluation of space management practices identified instances of wasted space and inefficient layout configurations. When compared to industry benchmarks, these deficiencies highlight the need for businesses to enhance their asset utilization strategies to remain competitive in the marketplace. The findings from the asset utilization assessment provide several key insights. It was observed that many businesses are operating below optimal asset utilization levels, leading to poor inventory turnover rates and inefficient use of facility space. Additionally, the evaluation of facility space management revealed significant instances of space wastage and inefficient layout configurations. A comparative analysis with industry benchmarks highlighted the urgent need for businesses to enhance their asset utilization practices in order to maintain competitiveness in the market.
