Abstract

The Digital Information System for Local Barangay contributes to the digital transformation of services and supports transparency, accountability, and communication within the barangay community by offering an inclusive and user-friendly platform for managing barangay information and services. Ultimately, this will lead to better governance and overall community improvement.

For local barangays, the smallest levels of government in the Philippines, digital information systems that offer online platforms for collecting and retrieving data on public services, social engagement, and local governance are highly beneficial. This system is specifically created for the barangay in question. The assessment's goal is to determine how well the system meets the needs of the barangay, fulfills its purposes, and remains both profitable and effective. In this study, quantitative research was used. To evaluate the population's responses, researchers employed a descriptive research approach. A total of 96 barangay residents in Barangay Makati City served as respondents. This study was conducted within the barangay premises during the years 2023–2024. The research tool utilized was a questionnaire, which follows a non-probability sampling technique wherein researchers select specific subjects with particular attributes requiring examination for the study. Analyzing the results, the majority of the residents in the barangay surveyed by the researchers are Millennials, defined as those between the ages of 19 and 24. Most respondents in this age group have completed the barangay service procedure. One of the main factors influencing respondents' productivity and performance is the service procedure. When a barangay employee uses machinery or equipment, it helps the organization provide quick services to the residents. Quantitative research was conducted using survey questionnaires. To facilitate their study and interpretation of the gathered data, the researchers used statistical methods such as weighted mean, ranking, and frequency and percentage distribution. During the barangay's evaluation of the digital transformation of services, respondents encountered numerous problems. The researchers proposed solutions to allow faster problem-solving and improve overall service quality. They recommended choosing high-quality equipment over low-cost alternatives when making new purchases to ensure long-term usability and consistently improving work performance in service processes.
