Abstract

Evaluating disaster preparedness involves a set of actions performed at the personal, organizational, and community levels to reduce the effects of a disaster. Readiness may involve survival strategies and actions to enhance survival in case of a catastrophe The researchers employed the Purposive Sampling Technique to gather the data. The researchers employed a quantitative descriptive research design to evaluate the variables of the study. The participants in this Study will include (25) Barangay Officials, (25) Residents, and (25) members from the Valenzuela City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (VCDRRMO), making a total of 75 participants. The researchers sought permission from the officials to carry out a study in their area; afterward, they would distribute the questionnaires and wait for them to complete their responses. Once the participants have completed the survey, researchers will gather it Based on the analysis and interpretation conducted, the highest response for Preventive Measures had an Overall Weighted Mean of 3.52, indicating a Strongly Agree. Understanding and Consciousness with Overall Weighted Mean of 3.37 with Strongly Agree. And, Logistical Requirements achieved an Overall Weighted Mean of 3.54, indicating Strongly Agree Inadequate involvement of community members in disaster preparedness leads to the suggestion of urging residents to engage with communication channels that can help them stay informed and concentrate on warnings and guidance for imminent natural disasters, particularly if they lack sufficient understanding of the appropriate actions to take. Inadequate performance of the community-based early warning system involves ensuring that Barangay Ugong, along with the Valenzuela City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (VCDRRMO), possesses the essential authority, resources, and support to perform their duties effectively
