Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of speech mirroring strategies in enhancing the English conversational skills of Grade 11 Senior High School students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. The study utilized a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test assessments to evaluate the impact of speech mirroring on students’ conversational abilities. Data were collected from 60 participants through questionnaires and observation rubrics. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ conversational skills following the implementation of speech mirroring strategies. The study concludes that speech mirroring is an effective pedagogical approach for enhancing English conversational proficiency among senior high school students. The study found that speech mirroring strategies significantly improved the English conversational skills of Grade 11 students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. While the approach proved effective, further research is recommended to explore its impact on students’ authenticity and to tailor its application to individual learning styles and communication preferences. These findings offer valuable guidance for educators, curriculum designers, and policymakers aiming to strengthen English language proficiency and communication skills among Filipino students.
