This study aims to assess the extent to which AI tools influence students' analytical thinking skills. Specifically, it seeks to identify the advantages and disadvantages of utilizing AI tools in educational settings and assess their impact on students’ abilities in logical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making. The primary objective is to generate valuable insights into the role of AI tools in the learning process and their potential impact on teaching and instruction. This study employed a quantitative research method using a descriptive research design to gather and analyze data on the effects of artificial intelligence utilization on the analytical thinking skills of students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. The results indicate that artificial intelligence (AI) assists students in understanding complex topics and enhances their confidence in thinking critically and logically. However, the highest weighted mean of 3.17 reflects a concern among students regarding over-reliance on AI. Excessive use of AI may diminish students’ ability to think independently, acquire new skills, and foster a sense of dependence. While students acknowledge that AI is user-friendly and beneficial, they emphasize that it should serve as a supportive tool rather than a replacement for their own problem-solving and critical thinking processes. These findings suggest that although AI can significantly enhance learning, its use must be balanced to avoid hindering the development of essential analytical thinking skills. The utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) among students at Bestlink College of the Philippines reveals both the promising advantages and potential drawbacks of AI tools in enhancing analytical thinking skills. While AI supports academic performance and offers opportunities for personalized learning, the growing concern over student over-reliance suggests a possible decline in critical thinking and independent problem-solving abilities. As education continues to integrate technological advancements, students, educators, and parents need to maintain a balanced approach—using AI as a supportive aid rather than a substitute. This balance is vital to ensure the continued development of authentic cognitive and analytical skills necessary for future success.
