UTILIZATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND ITS INFLUENCE ON ACADEMIC KNOWLEDGE OF GRADE 12 STUDENTS AT BESTLINK COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES

This study explores the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing the learning experience of Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. It investigates how AI impacts their academic excellence, learning environment, and knowledge retention, while also examining their perceptions of AI’s ease of use and usefulness in education.
The research addresses common concerns surrounding AI’s influence on creativity and critical thinking, emphasizing the need for educators and policymakers to understand AI’s evolving role in academic settings. According to Davis (1993), understanding students’ perspectives on AI systems is crucial, as their perceptions significantly influence their acceptance and use of such technologies. Integrating AI into educational frameworks may also require re-evaluating traditional teaching methods.
Ultimately, the study aims to develop an action plan based on student feedback and research findings to further enhance academic performance through effective and ethical use of AI tools. This research utilizes exploratory methods to generate new insights from 200 Grade 12 students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. The study employs cluster random sampling and gathers data through a survey questionnaire. To analyze the data, the study uses frequency to show how often specific responses occur, percentages to indicate their proportion within the total population, and mean scores to reflect overall performance. A rating scale is applied to interpret the survey responses and assess students’ perceptions effectively. The findings of this study indicate that artificial intelligence (AI) positively contributes to academic excellence, the learning environment, and learning retention among Grade 12 students. The results show favorable responses across these areas, with an overall average rating of 3.38, suggesting a generally positive perception of AI's impact on their education. Furthermore, the data reveal that many respondents are knowledgeable about the use of AI and recognize its potential benefits in enhancing their academic experience. To further strengthen AI’s positive impact, the researchers recommend monitoring its usage, encouraging practical application, and developing action plans to guide its effective implementation in educational settings.
