Digital transformation continues to reshape public service delivery, providing local governments with opportunities to improve efficiency through online solutions. In many barangays, the reservation of public facilities is still managed through manual processes, resulting in inefficiencies, scheduling conflicts, and limited accessibility for residents. These outdated methods not only hinder user experience but also increase administrative workload. To address these challenges, the Public Facilities Reservation System (PFRS) was developed to streamline the reservation process, enhance accessibility, and reduce manual operations. This system enables users to view facility listings, verify real-time availability, and make reservations through a user-friendly platform integrated with an interactive AI reservation assistant. The system was developed using the Agile methodology, which promotes flexibility, iterative development, and continuous feedback. Development was organized into several sprints, each focused on specific system features. Collaborative brainstorming and feedback sessions were conducted regularly to ensure that the evolving design met the needs of the community. This iterative approach allowed the system to remain adaptable and aligned with user expectations throughout its development. The implementation of the PFRS led to a significant improvement in the efficiency of public facility reservations in the participating barangays. The system automated routine tasks, minimized scheduling conflicts, and increased transparency in the reservation process. Residents reported greater convenience and ease of use, while barangay officials experienced a reduction in administrative responsibilities. The integration of the AI assistant also enhanced user interaction, particularly benefiting those with limited experience in digital systems. The development and adoption of the PFRS underscore the growing importance of digital technologies in delivering responsive and citizen-centered public services. By integrating facility listing, real-time availability, online booking, and AI assistance into one platform, the system empowers local governments to manage public resources more effectively. This project serves as a model for future initiatives aimed at promoting accessible, efficient, and technology-driven governance at the barangay level.
