This study examines the alarming rise in fire incidents in Barangay 132, Balut, Tondo, Manila. The frequent occurrence and rapid spread of large fires in the area are primarily attributed to insufficient communication, lack of updated fire safety awareness, and limited training among residents. A notable incident involved a fire that originated from wooden crates near residential areas, resulting in superficial second-degree burns to volunteer responders, as reported by the Bureau of Fire Protection. These findings underscore the urgent need for enhanced fire prevention strategies. The primary goal of this study is to strengthen the existing fire safety measures in the barangay by assessing current conditions and proposing improvements through community-based initiatives, sustainable practices, and proactive prevention strategies. The study utilized a descriptive research design to assess the development of fire prevention strategies in Barangay 132, Balut, Tondo. A total of 100 respondents participated, consisting of 80 residents and 20 fire volunteers. Data were gathered using a structured survey questionnaire, which aimed to evaluate the effectiveness, awareness, and implementation of current fire safety measures within the community. Based on the data collected, a significant portion of respondents (64%) were aged between 18 and 25 years. The majority were local residents, comprising 80% of the total sample, while fire volunteers made up the remaining 20%. Most respondents (75%) reported being single, and 26% indicated having attained the highest level of education among the group. Regarding community-based initiatives, respondents expressed strong agreement, with a composite mean score of 3.56. The predominant challenge identified was the “large volume of electrical hazards” in Barangay 132, Balut, Tondo, cited by 81% of participants. Additionally, the indicator “participation in activities aimed at developing a greater understanding of the area” received an overwhelmingly positive response, with a 99% agreement rate. Regular educational activities should be conducted to improve residents' awareness and understanding of fire prevention strategies, thereby strengthening community preparedness in the event of a fire. Furthermore, it is imperative to perform weekly inspections of electrical outlets, switches, and panels to identify early warning signs of overheating, such as discoloration, burn marks, or melted insulation, to prevent potential fire hazards.
