Abstract

E-commerce companies face unique and evolving challenges in managing employee performance due to the industry's fast-paced nature and heavy reliance on technology. A key concern is the lack of real-time performance data, which limits managers’ ability to make timely, informed decisions. Additionally, integration issues among disparate HR, sales, and operational systems lead to fragmented workflows and hinder comprehensive performance evaluations. The absence of structured, meaningful feedback mechanisms further restricts employee development and alignment with broader business objectives. This thesis identifies data latency, system fragmentation, and inadequate feedback as critical barriers to effective performance management in the e-commerce sector. This project adopts the Agile Scrum methodology to promote adaptability, iterative development, and continuous collaboration between stakeholders and the development team. A microservices-based system architecture serves as the foundation, enabling modular design, independent service deployment, and seamless scalability. DevOps practices are integrated to support efficient development and deployment through continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), thereby enhancing system responsiveness and reliability. The research follows a comprehensive methodological framework that includes stakeholder identification, detailed requirements gathering, and structured system design, ensuring that the final solution aligns with user needs and organizational goals. The project successfully designed and implemented a robust Human Resource Management System (HRMS) tailored to the operational needs of e-commerce businesses. The system enables precise performance tracking, delivers data-driven insights through advanced analytics, and supports strategic decision-making for HR professionals. User feedback highlights the platform’s intuitive interface, smooth functionality, and positive impact on employee engagement and performance management. Overall, the system demonstrates strong potential to optimize HR operations in fast-paced, digitally driven business environments. The system features essential functionalities including goal setting, performance evaluation, progress monitoring, and dynamic analytics dashboards. Through API integrations, it ensures seamless interoperability with existing enterprise systems, enabling unified and efficient data management. Real-time data visualization provides HR managers with immediate access to key performance metrics, supporting timely interventions and informed strategic decisions. This thesis explores the transformative role of data-driven insights in human resource management, highlighting their contribution to improving operational efficiency, aligning workforce performance with organizational goals, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
